Lina Pigadioti's work seeks to visualize the impact of time. She depicts images of fthora (wear and tear, decay, spoilage) and, through varied ways, means and techniques, recounts the feeling of spoilage that time leaves on matter. Lettering and random incidences complete the “syllabus” of her communication bible.

Lina Pigadioti lives and works in Athens, Greece. Her works are part of museum collections including Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, Thessaloniki, Greece and many private collections in EU & USA.

Lina Pigadioti Bio

"When Junhee reached out to invite me to participate to the Artist Collaboration project with Mont Kiji, it was a very particular period of my life. Living in Athens, Greece and experiencing the lockdown caused by the Covid 19 Pandemic, I had the luxury of time. Thus thinking … I had the opportunity to start an evaluation, an assessment of my life and the current impact of it on what I stand for. My path in life, my choices, my acts, my creations, my relations… everything passed in front of my eyes as a cinematography and generated a new Endoscopy, an exploration of my inner self.

Back in 2008 -when I decided to return to the dear heaven of Art where I found peace for my soul, as well as a chance for spontaneous expression- I had my first Endoscopy and fortunately there were many more to follow.

My interest in art is initiated by “time”. In my work I recreate through varied ways, means and techniques images of “Fthora” (wear, tear, decay, spoilage) to recount the feeling of spoilage that time leaves on matter and visualize the impact of time.

It is a way to produce memories that act as a visual diary to me. It was not long ago that I created a mini collection of 6 pieces - named Endoscopy- to investigate certain feelings and concerns. This specific collection emerged when I tried to visualize a piece of my artworks on a Mont Kiji unique luxury scarf.

It was a challenging moment for an artist but Mont Kiji’s motto: "We make memories, not mass-produced goods" encouraged me to find the ultimate balance between my inner feelings and a delicate piece of silk, a balance between time and matter.
