Eemyun Kang was Born in Busan, South Korea, and lives and works in Milan.
Semi-abstract painting expresses metamorphosis in the supernaturally bright canvases of Eemyun Kang. Nature’s vivid colours and morphological process that can sometimes take anthropomorphic forms are distinctive elements of her canvas. For Kang, the transformation of a substance into something visible can lead to spirituality. Her recent use of the pigment powder and oil directly on the antique Italian hemp canvas became important changes for her painting. She is also interested in different uses of the painting materials in different cultures and the history and the meanings of colours. Her paintings were exhibited in museums and galleries internationally.

"For an artist who had a keen interest in literature and mythology, my move to Italy was a blessing. My new work feels as if it is in dynamic tension between the conscious and the subconscious; between reality and myth; abstract and figurative. They suggest both the nature and process of morphology in a rich and profound way. " Eemyun Kang
